There are natural toxins in vegetables
One such anti-nutrient is called “lectin”. These natural chemicals are self-preservation components in plants. Plants don’t want to be eaten, so they create these chemicals. Small amounts are fine, often even helpful. However, we are no longer dealing with small amounts because of added pesticides.

There is a tradition in Ayurveda (the science of life) that where a poisonous plant is found, the antidote often grows nearby. It’s as if the sickness and the cure are sister plants, expressing opposite sides of the same coin.
We can apply this principle in the search for our own truth of a healthy body and brain: the solution we are seeking is often inherent in the problem itself.
Our own immune system is a wonderful example of this, having the built-in power to combat untold numbers of diseases. The cure, however, doesn’t become activated until the pathogen—the harmful bacterium or virus—is present in our body. Again, like two sides of a coin, the cure is linked with the disease.
For instance: A sacred river in India, the Gunga, is said to have many healing properties: One goes in the river and dunks their head three times, chanting a specific mantra (sacred word). The Gods then remove all ailments from that soul. That same river is also known to have an abundance of “scary” bacteria and viruses. Within that body of water lies the poison and the cure.
